Why Water?

The world water crisis rages on.

It’s no surprise to us that water is one of human life’s basic needs. We have heard endless rants about the benefits and necessity of water from our parents, personal trainers, and doctors.

Yet, we’ve almost become numb to the reality that there are millions of people who don’t have access to clean drinking water.

It’s hard for us to imagine what life without access to clean, drinking water looks like. Maybe it would help to see what it looks like for a village to have access to clean drinking water for the first time. Ever.

LACK OF CLEAN WATER IS STILL A HUGE PROBLEM

In 2015, the World Health Organization achieved its goal to ensure that every person in the world had access to a water source. A huge accomplishment to be sure! Yet, the war is not won. Just because everyone has access to a water source doesn’t mean it’s clean water.

Nearly 663 million people still do not have access to

CLEAN, DRINKABLE water.

663 million.

That’s equal to 2 times America’s population.

Maybe you hear these startling statistics and think, “What could I possibly do to make a difference for 663 million people?” Hope Water’s founder, Jimmy, knew that the solution to this problem could not be carried by one or even a few individuals. He came up with an answer that offered an opportunity for hundreds of people to collectively solve this problem (read his story here).

The goal of Hope Water is for individuals like yourself to be a part of the solution to a worldwide problem. That we might share the burden and work together for a purpose greater than ourselves: to give friends all over the world access to clean drinking water. The solution would be everyone pitching in to send water filters to communities and villages that lack contaminate-free water.
